Water fountains

This project was abound the drinking experience and attaching into a daily and vital action in an elementary school. The drinking fountains are location in the corridors on both floors of “Alonim” elementary school in Even Yehuda.
The corridor is a dynamic and narrow space with many group interactions. The actions taken in the corridor are usually fast as being part of a main route. One of the actions is drinking for water fountains. I have chosen to slow down the drinking routing and make it a more polite, almost a ritual. From the moment of pressing the button until the moment water comes out one needs to wait about 15 seconds.
The contraptions are located in front of an opening that allows light to enter, and reflect through the transparent pipes and water. The pupils sit inside a pipe system and observe the water movement. The water portions are customised for a glass or a bottle. This turns the drinking experience into a different social or personal experience and changes from one drinking device to the other.
